Critical printing issue

Post by samarc »

Hi Andrea,

I'm on Mac Sonoma 14.4.1 and HighDesign R8.

There's an issue with printing.

In the print dialogue under "Print Setup" the list of possible paper sizes is no longer related to the chosen printer. Instead, the same very short list of size options always appears.

I don't think this is a Sonoma issue, because it only occurs with HighDesign, not with any other program.

And it is not related to the printer. I have 5 different printers registered, and the same short list of paper sizes appears for all of them.

As an example, I've attached the paper size choices given by HighDesign and given by Apple Preview for the same Canon large format printer.

The issue is the same in R8 when going through Project -> Project Settings -> Paper Format -> Print Setup.

As a temporary workaround I can still enter custom paper formats.

Regards,

Bob

Check out the latest HighDesign R8.2.
We believe this was Apple's fault, which became very apparent in macOS Sequoia where the classic Page Setup dialog only shows the generic printer's settings.

In R8.2 we updated the Printer Setup dialog on macOS and it now provides the correct page settings for the selected printer.
