Amazing news. Don't know how I missed it.
I'm on R 6.1 and I will definitely upgrade to current.
Thank you so much for doing this work. It will definitely smooth out my workflow.

Re: symbols with entry fields...
I'm starting a new project and I would like to know where we are with this featrue.
I'm also curious if Matthew is able to export tag date using his workaround.
That is what is important to me is tagging each item in my CAD files so that I can relate them to a database.

I will third this notion. I feel this is a missing feature. Entry file with a text file export.

Re: HD 1.8.7 on MacOS 10.13 High Sierra?
I'm using R5 current release 2020-1-1715 on Big Sur and I find it quite usable. I admit that there was a period of time when the R5 would spin off into never-never land. That has been fixed in my opinion. If you wanted to try R5 I would. Although I guess R6 is promised by Jan 2021:) so maybe wait fo...

Marine design or other Finite element analysis workflows
Hey All,
I'm about to start the design of a boat using High Design as the CAD tool. I'm looking for ideas on workflows that people are using to model their forms.
Thanks,
Ben

Re: HighDesign R5 Zoom, Selection, inertial scrolling
I just wanted to follow up on this topic. I haven't had the chance to try R5.3 until now and I can say the issue has cleared up. Whatever it was is gone and I'm finally able to switch to Highdesign full-time.
I really like the program.

I describe my experience in my other thread.
I haven't followed up on Andrews suggestions but will update the thread when I do.
I hope to get back to it next week.

Re: HighDesign R5 Zoom, Selection, inertial scrolling
Quoting is difficult so I will just answer in the order asked. I'm using a mouse but it certainly does feel like a trackpad is involved. I assumed it was caused by use of a Magic Mouse which essentially is a mouse with a trackpad on top. Finally I do always have a trackpad hooked up but it is kept o...

cypress symbol zoomed no lines.jpg cypress symbol zoomed no lines.jpg Cypress symbol zoomed.jpg Hello, I'm working on a document and I thought I would put in some tress from the symbol library. I choose the cypress tree and changed it's dimensions to 3'. Once I place the tree on the document I get ...

Re: HighDesign R5 Zoom, Selection, inertial scrolling
Hello Andrew, I know how difficult software creation is and for whatever reason I really want to use High Design. Here is the simplest example I can come up with. I open a drawing in High Design R5. I try to navigate the drawing at the current scale but instead of navigate the drawing the scale is z...

Re: New Video Tutorial: Using Snaps
Hello Andrew, I just watched the video on snaps and here is my question. How does the snaps UI relate to one's snap selection. I had assumed that one would only select the snap style one was interested in. I also never understood if there is a freehand mode? Finally snap to grid is only for the majo...

Re: HighDesign R5 Zoom, Selection, inertial scrolling
Well I found the magnification tool on the opposite side of the drawing of the rest of the tools. It actually also has the hand tool and the zoom to fit.
This seems like a nice tidy collection of tools but in an unexpected place, the first time:)
