New Features
- Autoscrolling: when drawing an object, moving the pointer outside the main window scrolls the page.
- Added support for Quartz rendering on Mac OS X.
- The main window now provides a new toolbar for editing functions and special tools.
- Added a Polar Multiply / Distribute tool.
- Added a Linear Distribute tool
- Printing:
- New "Print Area" tool to create printable portions of the drawing.
- Added a "Show/Hide Printable Areas" menu item to the Views menu.
- Print Preview: added a popup menu to choose the area to be printed from whole drawing, selected items only and available print areas.
- Print Settings: added a "Fit To Page" option to print on one page.
- Dimensions:
- Labels can now be repositioned along the witness line. To edit its position, select the dimension and with the dimension tool click on the label selection point. Labels can also be placed outside the dimension line. When repositioning the label of a dimension, its location point snaps to the midpoint of the witness line.
- Dimension labels can have a prefix and tolerances.
- Dimensions labels now support text styles.
- Hatches:
- Added a "Scale-dependent" property to link a hatch to its drawing scale.
- Added a "Pattern Angle" slider to change the global angle of a hatch pattern.
- Solid fills: added support for adjustable transparency on Mac OS X.
- Preferences:
- Added a new "Units" panel to the Preferences window.
- Added the ability to set the number of decimal digits to be displayed.
- Added the ability to display and enter angles as decimal degrees, degrees, minutes and seconds and an option to show bearings and set the North direction.
- Tool settings are now saved into the preferences
- Added an option to prevent the arrows from being scaled with the zoom factor.
- Added a preference to choose to update the defaults while applying the changes to a selected object.
- Doors and Windows:
- Added a new "Casing" property to Windows and Doors: it is now possible to insert doors and windows with jambs designed for Masonry or Frame construction.
- Added two new types of doors: Bypass sliding with 2-4 panes, and Surface Sliding, with 1 or 2 panes.
- Contextual menu: added two items to invert the opening side and direction of a selected door or window.
- Added support for Network Licences, with a server storing the licence file and clients connecting to log in.
- Symbols can now be visually resized and flipped directly on screen by using the edit-cursor.
- Added a new tool to find the center of mass of polygon. Tools : Find Center of Mass of Polygon. This function works with closed polygons made with line, polygon and hatch tools.
- The Layers menu on the Properties Bar now supports clicks on layer attributes icons for direct editing.
- DXF Export: when a project has multiple sheets, the user can now choose what sheets have to be exported and whether they should be exported to a single file or to individual files inside a folder (PRO only).
- Added a "Batch Import DXF" to automatically import a folder of DXF files (PRO only).
- Added a new "Move Current Sheet" command under the Drawing menu to move the current sheet frame.
- Contextual menu: added a "Edit Properties" item to open the selected object's properties dialog.
Miscellaneous Enhancements
- Snap to objects is now more than 30% faster.
- Redrawing is now faster.
- Printer settings are now saved to the preferences and are now available between sessions.
- Tool defaults are now saved into the preferences.
- The Pen Weight pop-up menu now displays pen weights in both metric and english units.
- The fit view to page command now handles selections: if there are items selected, this command zooms on them instead of zooming on the whole drawing.
- DXF: added preliminar support for ATTRIB entities.
- DXF Import: text entities with non-ASCII characters are imported correctly.
- DXF Import: text entities are imported with the correct size with all scales.
- DXF Import: RTF text styles are interpreted correctly
- DXF Import: multiline texts are now handled better.
- DXF Export: improved support for dimension and linetype scales.
- Dimension Properties Dialog: setting a custom text for a dimension no longer affects new dimensions.
- Labels of radial dimensions are now correctly scaled when the zoom factor is less than 20%.
- Some refresh issues with the Methods bar have been eliminated.
- Objects with corrupted coordinates are now skipped when a file is loaded.
- Snap now correctly handles objects with corrupted coordinates.
- Door & Window Dialog: improved the types popup menu.
- Elevation dimensions now support prefix, custom text and unit display.
- Extension points of linear dimensions are only visible to snap when the dimension is selected.
- Linear dimensions that are too narrow now display reverse arrows.
- Symbol Options dialog: files and views tables now have a focus that can be changed via the Tab key.
- Segments in regular polygons have now double precision.
- The tools Get Attributes / Set Attributes now support all the properties of hatches.
- Function "Set Attributes" now supports Undo/Redo.
- Scale tool: circles and ellipses can now be scaled through their actual dimensions.
- It is now possible to set a fixed length while applying an editing command, like move or duplicate.
- When X or Y are set a guide shows the insertion point.
- Texts, Print areas and custom dimension labels with non-ASCII characters (accents, umlautes, etc) are now opened correctly from saved files.
- Snap to Intersection: now handles polygons correctly.
- Get / Set Attributes commands now support doors and windows.
- X and Y commands now display axis-aligned guides.
- The drawing now refreshes when the Drawing Manager window is closed.
- Arcs, béziers and freehands have a better support of special line types.
- Improved the autosave routine and fixed a possible source of errors with files not being saved.
- Starting an edit function when the Pan or the Zoom tools are active now activates the Arrow tool.
- Redesigned the Dimension Options dialogue.
- Door & Window Options dialog: changed the appearance to reflect the new Casing property.
- It is now possible to fillet/chamfer two lines with a radius of 0. The result is the same as the "Intersect" tool.
- Hatch Options dialog: removed the colour model pop-up menu.
- "Find Intersection" now supports intersections between arcs or circles.
- Snap To Intersections now supports intersections between arcs or circles.
Bug Fixes
- Linear Dimensions: fixed a bug that prevented the user from setting the marker size before creating the dimension.
- The "Open Most Recent Document" option could generate refresh errors and an ID02 error an application launch when there were no recent documents.
- Print Preview: the preview box should update correctly now.
- Texts are read correctly again (broken in an earlier beta).
- Cancelling an editing operation made with the arrow tool did not reset the tool status.
- Pasting grouped items introduced an error in the global group handler.
- Rotated texts were trimmed on one edge.
- DXF Import: current markertypes are now reset before opening a file.
- DXF Import: multiline texts could be imported rotated.
- The bounding box of 90° arcs wasn't calculated correctly.
- Dimensions: in some conditions, extension lines could be displayed incorrectly.
- Walls & Windows: tools Move, Duplicate, Multiply, Rotate and Mirror generated errors when undone and redone.
- Printing: fixed a problem with deleted objects being printed anyway.
- The "Revert" command in the file menu could open a blank dialog if no changes were made to the current drawing.
- Constraining the angle with constrained length did not stop the action.
- DXF Import: radial dimensions had one point at (0,0).
- DXF Export: points had bad Y coordinates.
- Choosing Save As JPEG from the "Create Image" window opened the Save As dialog twice.
- Clicking with the arrow tool inside a hidden sheet generated an error.
- Symbols: changing a property of several selected symbols replaced all symbols to the last selected.
- Mirrored circles had bad factors and did not support snap to object.
- The text fields in the Grid panel of the Preferences dialog did not accept inches.
- The tangent point to a circle wasn't calculated with precision.
- DXF Import: styled texts are now imported correctly.
- Using the Arrow tool on a protected sheet caused an incorrect selection.
- Panning: pushing the Space bar to pan and releasing it before releasing the mouse button made the drawing return back to its original location.
- Hidden sheets opened with the Standard version were not made visible.
- Groups: deleting a group did not update the internal group counter.
- Groups: grouping two or more groups together now creates a new group and deletes the previous groups.
- Setting the start point with the "L" command did not work reliably when the second click was on an intersection.
- The object displayed while pressing Shift with the "Constrain Length" command active did not respect the given length.
- Keys pressed are correctly intercepted by the Calculator.
- Setting the length and the angle of a segment of a hatch or polygon cancelled the drawing action.
