symbols

Post by macitect »

Is it currently possible to export custom symbols in a drawing? Can they bound to or encapsulated within the file? If not is this going to be possible in the near future?

thanks

No, symbols in a project are external references. When you send a project to another HighDesign user, you should make sure that the library on the receiving end includes the symbol you used, otherwise they will display as empty boxes. It is advisable to include your custom library along with the project you are sending.

Yes, embedding symbols in documents is something that can be added in the future. Of course that should be an option on a per-project basis.

Thanks Andrew,

Consider this part of the wish list...
(or maybe even a function that when saving in order to send -export- the symbols could be detected, exploded and grouped so that they are saved like any other object.)

cheers,
