Leopard coming in less than 10 days

Post by alexwhite »

What expectations should we have with how HD will work within the new OS?
Will we see improvements tied to the new OS?
Has HD been tested in beta 10.5?
Is there a way ilexsoft can test prior to the 26th?

I'm planning to make the OS upgrade but want to do so knowing that this won't break or slow an important application.

Best,

I'm planning on upgrading, but I'll probably wait a couple of months and watch the feedback from the users......

I don't think we'll have a choice but to upgrade, I guess the question is when everyone will do it.

I'll do the same as Steven... wait a few months for them to iron out the bugs that the brave souls will discover who jump on it right away.

So far the application seems to run similar to Tiger. I'll put it through the paces in the next few days.

This is how the HD files look in the new Cover Flow feature of the Finder. You can see how PDFs and Sketchup files show a thumbnail.

A quick update on the compatibility status: HighDesign 1.7.1 & the latest betas run fine on Leopard. We have found no issues except for a slight delay on the first launch of the application, but the successive launches are much faster than they are in Tiger.
Support for QuickLook will come, likely with the next update.

yep... seems to run VERY well indeed... first up though "Oh No!! HD is not going to work" but it was only as Andrew said, that the first load is slow then after that it is OK if not faster

not sure if my printing problems is leopard related.

i am having trouble making lines print thicker than roughly .35mm no matter how thick i make the lines.

that's also the case when you print to pdf or preview as well, so not a printer thing
