From the latest Ilexsoft eNews issue http://www.ilexsoft.com/enews/currentissue/#2:

"Last January, on the stage of the MacWorld Expo in San Francisco, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced two new Macintosh models: the iMac and the portable Mac Book Pro. Both are powered by an Intel® Core™Duo processor instead of the traditional IBM®-Motorola® PowerPC™ chips.
This new architecture requires a new format for applications Apple calls "Universal Binary". A Universal Binary application is able of running natively on both Intel and PowerPC machines. Non-Universal applications, that is, all the Mac applications designed to run on a Mac until January 2006, can be used on a new Intel-based Macintosh thanks to a translation technology called "Rosetta".

Ilexsoft is committed to fully supporting the new Intel-based Mac computers. This means that HighDesign will be available as a Universal Binary application later this year. There are no technical issues on our side, but the conversion process requires care and testing as we want to deliver a reliable, quality product.

HighDesign 1.6.2 and Rosetta
HighDesign 1.6.2 has been tested on the new Intel Core Duo iMacs with positive results. No issues have been found so far apart from a performance degradation. Depending on the system configuration and the amount of installed RAM, HighDesign may be slower than it is running on PowerPC-based Macs. These performance issues are mitigated by higher amounts of RAM, since Rosetta caches translated instructions into memory during the execution of an application
