Dimension Leader and Free Text

Post by alexwhite »

The Ordinate Dimension tool that is a leader, arrow and text doesn't seem to have a "free text" entry mode in 2015.3.1

In 1.8.7 I would use the Dimension radius leader to point to an object and then I had the option to write in a text like "Rigid Insulation" and edit it later.

This new tool doesn't seem to work this way...

What am I missing?

The Annotation tool is what you are looking for. It is a method of the Texts tool and you can use it to add leaders and labels to the project.

When used on symbols, the Annotation tool also prompts a description of the object, like type, size, preset name, etc.

Use the menus on the Properties bar, between the line type and the pen weight buttons. As for all objects, you can either set them in advance or apply to the selection.
