importing dxfs

Post by macitect »

When i imported a drawing from autocad all the arcs dissappeared from the corners of my lots (a city drawing). I guess I can replace them using fillet, but is there a way to ensure that HD imports all lines, including curves and arcs?

Also, how do I erase layers. The file I imported from AC has about 40 layers and i don't need them. I would like to delete them and move all the contents onto a layer that I can define myself.

Thanks

I don't have a good reply for the missing arc's -- perhaps they were w-blocks or x-refs -- try exploding the dwg prior to dxf'ing it.

To work with layers,

1) Select All to highlight all the objects you wish to keep; and,
2) Use the drop down layer box (in the lower left) to select one new layer for all.
3) Open the Drawing Manager and delete the unwanted layers.
