sharing/trading your custom symbols?

Post by kohledfusion »

Is anyone interested in trading custom symbols they have created? If you don't like the idea of free sharing, how about listing what you have to offer & paying each other via PayPal? I haven't checked to see if HD will import custom symbols yet....I'm just testing the waters for interest.

On a side note, are there elevation views for the toilets & sinks that come standard in HD? I can't find them if they exist. And I'd be happy to pay someone for a toilet elev - it's driving me nuts :)

Definitely interested. I think though that Andrew said the next update to this forum would make it easier to share that kind of thing. Otherwise I had been thinking about setting up a site...

Is there a timeline for the forum update Andrew?

In the meantime check your PMs.

We are waiting for the next stable release of phpBB 3.0 (the forum software), so we do not have to add and manage third party modifications.

Try this:

http://www.duravit.us/products/series/a ... ptmab.html

You´ll find a lot of 2D-dxf-drawings, which can be used with HD.

Best regards

I have some Structural Steel sections, angles, channels etc that are Imperial as opposed to the Metric ones in the HD library. By no means all that is out there but some of the more common lighter sizes ..... there for the asking if they are of any help to you.

JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW I AM GOING DEFINITELY TO SET UP A SHARING SITE WHILE WE WAIT FOR PHPBB3.
(sorry about shouting... CAPS LOCK was on and I look at the keyboard, not the screen... )

So if you would like you can either email me the stuff you have to share or drop them off here:

afp://macitect.dnsalias.com
(Log in as guest and put them in the drop box.)
If you use this method KINDLY; 1) Log off my computer when finished and 2) Alert me to it by email.

I'm in a little rush at the moment but I promise to have it up within 2 weeks.

EDIT: email address - derek(at)siemensnet.com

Derek, I tried to open "drop Box" but got insufficient privs message. I logged in as guest. I haven't done disk mounts in a while, apologies if I'm missing the obvious :)

Yeah, for security I don't actually make my disk accessible so you can't actually go inside. You can simply drag your files onto the drop box. At that point it will give you a warning that you don't have sufficient privileges to see the outcome of the operation. Just click OK and the files will be transferred - you just can't see inside the drop box.

On another note -
I know I said two weeks was my timeline on Thurs., but my rush has been slightly extended. Let's say two weeks from today.

For the Omnigraffle application, the site http://www.graffletopia.com is popular with Omnigraffle users. Anyone can submit and download stencils (the omnigraffle equivalent of symbols).

I'm sure that something like the graffletopia site for High Design, with symbols logically categorised, would be equally as popular.

Hey, why not call it highdesigntopia?
