Arc length

Post by peatle »

I have created an 'Arc by three points'. Is there a way that I can lengthen or shorten it by numerically inputting the required length.

I have tried selecting it and hittng L but this doesn't work on arcs presumably nor does trying to change the length in the 'Object Info' box.

A lot of good questions recently, peatle... ;-)

Sorry, I don't know either. I just redraw the arc.

I believe L and A want to work but there's a problem with the function... I get wierd results in the object info box when I enter a new L, then click on the endpoint to extend the arc to the new Length. Nothing actually happens, but the object info changes to reflect the new Length. The angle degrees seems to go a little haywire...

redraw seems the most reasonable to me too.

I sent this query to Ilexsoft and received this reply.
Hello Peter,

Currently you can edit arcs numerically by changing radius (r), start angle (a1) and final angle (a2) via the Object Info palette. The length showed in the palette is a display only info. Arcs by three points are exactly like all other arcs when you edit them.

Best regards,
