OS X Program to Batch Convert .dwg files?

Post by jda »

I'm just getting started with HD and I have a library of hundreds of .dwg blocks that I want to convert to symbols. Does anyone know of an OS X app that will batch convert these files to .dxf so that I can get them into HD?

I dread the thought of having to convert these individually in SketchUp. SketchUp doesn't seem to be Automator aware, either.

Sounds like a perfect excuse to dig into automator and make this routine. I believe we should go for gold and to a full translation from dwg/dwx into the High Design .HDS.

I seem to get hung up in the Automator programming... but am willing to form an team effort.

macitect - that works quite nice. Which DXF conversion version is the most safe?

I always just use the latest (if I remember it is the 2004...)
