I just have a same question about the new mac's end the HD software.

Will there be a new release, compiled with universal binary's ( TO buy ??) or will there be an update from HD to universal binary's??

Has I have read, an older program will work 30% slower ( With Rosette) than the same program compiled with Uni-code.

We are still testing HighDesign on the new iMacs and will post the results as soon as they are ready.

As far as we know, the performance of the new iMac and the MacBook Pro should be just about the same since they use the same chip. Of course, the performance gain over the previous models will be much more dramatic on the MacBook than the iMac. Anyway, the models seen at the MacWorld were prototypes and we will have to wait until February to see the actual machines.

Let me assure you, HighDesign will be available as a Universal Binary application later this year. There are no technical issues on our side.

The report about HighDesign under Rosetta will be posted soon.

thanks for the reply.
Now I'm sure.
I shall buy the new I-mac next week and will wait on the new release of HD.
