Re: HighDesign 1.8.6 beta 1 Now Available
I am not sure this is related to 1.8.6b1 or not, but i have been using it exclusively for the last couple of days. Just recently, i lost a couple of functions. I tried reverting back to 1.8.5 and deleting the preference file, but to no avail. The functions are just no longer there. What i can no lon...

Re: AutoCAD translation
Just sent off the final AutoCAD files. I did nearly all the line work in HD. Text and dimensions did export surprisingly well. Leaders, on the other hand did not. Even so, i ended up doing pretty much all the annotation in AutoCAD as well as some touch-up on the line work. Once i had it in AutoCAD a...

Re: AutoCAD translation
Thanks for the input alex. Unfortunately, i do not have SU Layout and am not familiar with it. I have access to my old employer's AutoCAD and hardware as he still drafts manually and does not have anyone else in the office right now. He has said that i can use it if i ever need to. As such i was goi...

AutoCAD translation
I just picked up some feelance drafting work for another architect. He requires that i deliver the final product in AutoCAD. I am planning on doing the majority of the drafting in HD and then exporting dwg's to take into AutoCAD to put on the title block. Does anyone have experience with this kind o...

Re: HighDesign on OS X Lion
Not that adding another voice will spur any action on the part of ilexsoft, but i wholeheartedly agree. The lull between the teaser pics and no real news to speak of on the development of HighDesign shows a total lack of respect and appreciation for their loyal customers who would simply like regula...

Re: grouping sheets?
Glad i could be of help. I do not keep my main window maximized because i do not like to have to move palettes around to get to my work. I prefer to have the main window reduced in size so the palettes sit on the right side of the screen. This also helps because i then have a swath of the desktop sh...

Re: grouping sheets?
bump on the "side note" question... I'm pretty sure it worked as expected at the beginning (was it under Leopard yet?) but now I find this very annoying. anyone experienced the same issue or is it just me? thanks, Alessandro I do find this happens on occasion for me as well. It does not h...

Change Registration Info?
This is somewhat petty, but is there a way to change my registration information for HD? What i am referring to specifically is when i start HD, the initial startup screen gives the "Licensed to" information. Since i initially purchased HD, i have rebranded my practice and would like the &...

Andrew, since i know you are still around as you just responded to my post in the pub regarding my recent experience with AutoCAD, could you please respond to this thread as well and give us an update on the next release of HD?

SocialMedia
I just wanted to share that, after several years of resistance, i have now joined the ranks of those who 'socialize' online. If anyone is interested, i have a facebook page for my firm ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mansfield-OH/FiELD9-architecture/190105174362801?sk=wall ) as well as a twitter acc...

Glad to be back
I just spent 4 hours working in AutoCAD after 2-1/2 years away for a freelance drafting job i picked up. Really makes me appreciate HD all the more. While i appreciate that HD is not perfect. It certainly does do many things better than AutoCAD.

Re: ... Rispondere é cortesia
It really is somewhat disheartening that the developers cannot take a minute to update us every once and a while. I really like HD and am looking forward to the next version with great anticipation. It seems they are doing themselves a great disservice by not keeping this community abreast of what i...

Re: grouping sheets?
As far as i know, there is no way to group sheets per se. However, it is my understanding (and i have dabbled in this a bit, but not extensively), you can set up project views that include designated sheets and/or layers as visible or not. So you can set up the drawing at the zoom factor you want, w...

Re: CAD programme comparisons
I went through a similar thing several years ago before settling on HD. At the time i had extensive AutoCAD experience, but was looking for something to use natively on a Mac. In my ignorance of anything not AutoCAD at the time, i downloaded all the free trials i could and tested them in accordance ...
