Putting openings / breaks in walls

Can I break a wall with 1.8.5? I am doing floor plans for a remodel job and it would be nice to put breaks I.e. openings in walls. Only way i have found is to erase the wall and then draw in walls of the correct length.

TIA

Alex,
good idea except the mouse is set-up for a lefty so it makes getting to the other shift key more difficult.

May have to try Matt's idea since my fat fingers & brain keep getting messed up.

Drawing straight lines

Hi All,
is there some way to draw straight lines other than holding down the "shift" key? I frequently hit the "return" key instead of the "shift" key.

TIA

Re: HD 1.8.5 locked up

Quick update. I received the back-up CD today and reinstalled HD to see if this would resolve this problem. Answer is no it did not. It seems that this drawing is "Locked" in the dimension mode. I.e. The button has a red border around it. Note: I can not add or alter dimensions.. Any ideas...

Re-Install from CD

Since I also ordered the back-up CD when I purchased HD, can I use this to re-install HD on my machine? I would think that is the intention and the license ID number should be the same. Probably won't receive this till next year. Just looking for possible solutions since I think some how my initial ...

Re: newbie with 1.8.5 questions

A. problem is I can't find the demo folder either. All I can find when doing searches is the icon for HD. Click on it for info and it gives me a path that leads me back to the icon. Re: newbie with 1.8.5 questions

Alessandro,

I did multiple searches and can't find the symbols library or the Highdesign.dmg folder. Since all other parts of the program appear to working I know it is here some where. I am going to keep digging. For some reason I find that a MAC is very hard to navigate through files.

thanks
