Re: R5 Workflows

The Detail Area tool, drop down to save with a name works. I can not seem to place this on a new Layout using the + Veiwport tool. A small square detail rectangle is inserted but does not have any line work visible. Somehow, I'm able to double click or get it to link back to the Detail, but in that...

Re: Beachball on Delete

Seems like an old problem -- getting a couple second beachball on deletion of a line. My drawing is not that heavy... any suggestions on clearing the cache? I 'm not getting the beachball on delete, but I do get the spinner with any types of clipboard commands. Cutting a line to the clipboard takes...

Re: HighDesign R5 Zoom, Selection, inertial scrolling

Can anybody confirm this strange experience? Yes. Very laggy. The graphics engine doesn't appear to have had much of an upgrade. When you move objects instead of them being smoothly rendered as you move them they are replaced with a blue rectangle. Which flickers when moved and doesn't move smoothl...

Re: creating PDF file at 1:50

My framing etc. is not on the 1:1 scale drawing. After scaling down I have to add this and some other objects on it. I thought so. :-) I always put my frames in a 1:1 sheet to avoid any problems when I change scale on my drawing (or need different views at different scales). If you want to avoid ha...

Re: creating PDF file at 1:50

When you say "Scale down" in ViaCAD you mean scaling the drawing itself (i.e. making a 1000mm line into a 20mm line) so that when you dimension it it's 20mm? That's the same as "Resize Drawing" i think. So it's the same one command. You just need to keep the drawing frame separat...

Re: creating PDF file at 1:50

The best way to use title blocks/drawing frames is to have them on their own sheet at 1:1 scale. You shouldn't put any other objects into the title block sheet, which makes it work no matter what drawing scale you choose. Add new sheets and set their scales independently for your actual drawing. If ...

Re: Scalling Hatches

Have you tried changing the sheet/drawing scale? The textures/hatches will change size depending on the scale you're drawing at. If you're at 1:100 try changing the drawing scale to 1:50. The texture will scale accordingly.

Re: exporting/saving to previous versions?

Have you tried emailing ilexsoft support?

They are probably more likely to help if you write to them directly.

Re: exporting/saving to previous versions?

I don't think it's possible. You can save an HD 2016 format file from HD 2017, but not earlier. HD 2016 does not have an option to save as 2015 (or earlier) file. Your only option is to export as DWG and hope HD 2015 doesn't make a complete mess of the subsequent import (which in my experience it pr...

Re: highdesign 2017 - first try

Draw a rectangle. Duplicate it. Now I have two rectangles and I want to draw a line that joins the two rectangles, so I click the line tool. Then I click on the corner of the duplicated rectangle to snap the new line to the corner. Start drawing. What shape should be drawn? In my book, it should be...

in particular on this, I agree with you. Besides, I find the management of texts frustrating.. What concerns me is why the behaviour I mentioned above seen as being the right way to do things? It's so contrary to what makes sense on the Mac that I have a hard time thinking of a single argument in i...
