that is most exciting news, Giovanni, about the v2 beta in Jan… I am very much looking forward to the testing of this fantastic looking upgrade… the interface is definitely looking good from the screenshots… can't wait for the new year :-)

Like Michael I have not been very active in HD for a while but am looking at trying out the latest release this weekend… lots of renovation drawings to be done so have to knuckle down and put HD through it's paces… by the way… have not seen anything come through in the beta area for a while… v2 beta...

this is truly great news for I VERY regularly log into the beta site hoping and praying that there will be a new beta just sitting in there waiting to be pushed to it's limits... this is a truly great CAD application and one I would very much miss if it disappeared... so it is much relief to here th...

Cheetah3D is a very good 3D app but for speed and accuracy SU is much easier to use... but C3D is great for rendering SU models and has a great price and a great developer who listens to what users are saying... to see what it can do in terms of rendering ability search the C3D forum for posts by Ja...

yep... seems to run VERY well indeed... first up though "Oh No!! HD is not going to work" but it was only as Andrew said, that the first load is slow then after that it is OK if not faster

definitely SU... cross platform... free version to try out forever :-) and it is VERY accurate... altho does not go down to the micron level... so jewellers and the like have to scale up to work but for the tolerances that civil engineering and architecture work at it is fine... you work at 1:1... b...

what would be good for the 45° slash is to have the rule extending slightly through the slash... like when hand drawn...

it had been peeving me for sometime... knew there had to be a separate shortcuts file but did not even think of looking in there...

Andrew...

why would it be that I have lots and lots and lots of menu items with the same key commands...??? such that when one does an obvious one nothing happens or something happens which one is not aware of because I don't know which key command is being activated

It definitely could be a prefs thing... often new versions of any software screw around with the prefs unfortunately... I often delete the prefs file when working on a new version of software and especially betas...

Kevin... if you select the text block with the arrow tool first and then change tools to the Text tool and click into the text block it should work... without having the text block selected first it will make a new text block what would be good is to have the text cursor appear when double clicking ...
