Ilexsoft today announced the release of HighDesign 1.5, the powerful CAD application for Mac OS X that streamlines the design process with its advanced vector tools made easy for experts and newcomers alike. Version 1.5 is a major upgrade that introduces over 80 new items and improvements, and special features designed specifically for Mac OS X 10.4 'Tiger'.

Key features of HighDesign 1.5 are:

• The new Document Properties panel provides integration of HighDesign documents with Spotlight.
• Improved redraw speed, with gains of up to 86% over the previous version.
• Support for high-resolution images and a redesigned Create Image tool to produce high-impact images of the project.
• The new Import Symbol Library converts collections of DXF symbols and blocks to HighDesign-native symbols, making available, with a simple two-step process, the millions of CAD symbols that can be found on the Internet.
• Enhanced Undo/Redo and overall improved reliability.
• Compatibility via DXF 2004 and direct vector PDF export, with support for single or multi page documents and RGB/CMYK color output.
• The new, much requested Offset tool.
• New Align Objects commands and Snap to Alignments feature.
• Enhanced walls, doors and windows thanks to the new Convert To Wall tool, automatic regeneration of edited walls and easier insertion of the openings.

HighDesign 1.5 is available now for download at http://www.ilexsoft.com/downloads and is provided as a free upgrade to all HighDesign 1.0 and above registered users. Also available are a User's Guide and a Getting Started tutorial.

Future versions of HighDesign will be compatible with both PowerPC and Intel-based Macintosh product lines.
